Welcome to The West Grantham Church of England Primary Academy, supported by the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham Multi Academy Trust.
Our primary aim is to deliver an excellent education that empowers children and equips them for an aspirational future of life-long learning. ‘To champion and rejoice in those we serve, creating an environment where excellence is achieved and potential fulfilled’.
We stand up for what is right and are not afraid to learn from our mistakes as we push ourselves to be the very best that we can be.
“I can do all things
through Christ who
strengthens me”
Philippians 4:13
We have unwavering
confidence in ourselves, in
others, and in our
capacity to succeed.
“All things are possible to
him who believes”
Mark 9:23
We are dedicated and
devoted to, serving
others, achieving
excellence and celebrating
success.
“Be strong and
courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord
your God will be with you
wherever you go”
Joshua 1:9
We have unlimited hopes
and aspirations so all
can achieve their full
potential.
“The integrity of the
upright guides them”
Proverbs 11:3
We are honest, ensuring
that our actions are
guided by strong moral
principles that we refuse
to change.
“Love is patient, love is
kind. It does not envy, it
does not boast, it is not
proud. It always protects,
always trusts, always
hopes, always perseveres”
1 Corinthians 13:4 & 7
Today in geography, we used Henry’s fantastic homework project model to help us remember the features of a river. We drew rivers on the tables and labelled them. We also looked closely at the River Humber and used a map to find its source, mouth, tributaries and a meander.

In science today, we created an artificial method of asexual reproduction. If we are successful, we will make new plants that are genetically identical to the parent plant! Cuttings are small pieces of stem that are carefully removed from the parent plant and encouraged to form their own roots, making new plants. Great work 5K! You were able to tell the difference between sexual and asexual reproduction in plants and create your own cuttings of lavender, thyme and sage.

In enrichment, Around the World club landed in Australia. We investigated where Australia is, how long it would take to get there and what the population was. We also learnt that Australia is home to many deadly and unusual species of animals. We finished the afternoon listening to some music being played using a didgeridoo and completed some aboriginal artwork.
Next stop as voted by the group is Japan!
